The first step in that conquest is awareness of self. Once one begins to understand what "makes them tick", they can begin the process of breaking the structure apart, changing what they do not like, and rebuilding with that which they do. No one else can reach into those inner recesses of self and do it for us, it is done alone, and thus his reference to a "silent conquest". I like the quote.
Not only is it important to have awareness of self but in order to begin any journey of conquest you have to truly know what you want to accomplish as a result of the journey.
